SYNERGEYES HYBRID CONTACT LENSES

We are one of 250 offices in the nation who are fitting this new revolutionary contact lens. This lens combines the crisp, clear vision of a gas permeable contact lens with the comfort of a soft contact lens. These materials together give you the best vision and comfort a contact lens can offer.

There are 5 types of SynergEyes lenses offered currently and more to come. The SynergEyes A lens will work for those who are nearsighted, farsighted, and astigmatism. There are 2 designs available for patients with keratoconus or cone-shaped eyes. We are proud to be one of the initial offices in the nation to fit the new SynergEyes Clear Kone lenses. The SynergEyes KC lens design also works for patients with keratoconus and is the first generation of that series of lenses. For those patients who need a bifocal type of prescriptions in glasses, they can benefit from using the SynergEyes Multifocal lenses. Lastly, there is a SynergEyes PS (post-surgical) lens available to those patients who had prior corneal surgeries, eye injuries or other corneal irregularities.

OPTOMAP

Our office is excited to introduce the Optomap retinal imaging system. With the Optomap, patients can, for the first time ever, see what the doctor sees. This can now be done without the dilation of the eyes. The traditional way of examining the retina was to have the optometrist use eye drops to dilate the pupil to take a look inside the eye. This meant the patient couldn€t do things like read or use a computer for several hours after the examination. This procedure takes less than 5 minutes to perform.

With the Optomap, the patient just puts the eye up to the device which then scans the retina in seconds. The doctor and patient can then look at the image together on a monitor. The image files can then be stored for comparison with images taken at later visits to detect any changes.

Besides being interesting, the Optomap also gives patients a greater understanding of exactly what is taking place inside their body so they can take better care of their eyes. Our doctors recommend having the Optomap performed yearly to detect any changes of the eyes now to prevent potential vision loss in the future.
